TL/N - Honestly, this novel's manga adaptation nearly drove me nuts while I was reading it and it's the obsession with it that made me pick this up. The manga is not completed as of now and I wanted to know how the novel version of it would look like (unfortunately, no one translated it yet.) So should I say this is a kind of crazy fan translation? I'm not sure. But I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I did!

When Jiang Ying arrived at the hotel by car, snow had begun to fall from the sky.

The crowd of reporters gathered at the entrance formed a stark contrast with the bleak weather.

Zhou Yi’s assistant spotted her and quickly came forward. “Sister Jiang Ying, why are you here?”

Jiang Ying had the kind of stunning looks that captivated the soul, though she rarely smiled, giving her a somewhat serious and dignified appearance.

Without changing her expression, Jiang Ying removed her leather gloves and lifted her gaze to the assistant. “Where’s President Zhou?”

The assistant looked troubled. “In the room.”

Jiang Ying shifted her gaze and walked forward to knock on the door. After a short while, a young woman in her early twenties, eyes red from crying, opened the door.

The girl didn’t recognize Jiang Ying. Sniffling, she asked in a delicate voice, “Are you the crisis PR from President Zhou’s side?”

Jiang Ying gave a small nod and brushed past her into the room.

As she entered, Zhou Yi happened to step out of the bathroom, wearing a loosely tied bathrobe. Droplets of water dripped from the ends of his hair, tracing down his collarbone before disappearing beneath the robe—lazy, sensual, and effortlessly seductive.

Upon seeing Jiang Ying, Zhou Yi’s lips curled into a slight smile. There was no trace of embarrassment from being caught in bed by his newlywed wife. “Why is it you?”

Jiang Ying lifted her eyes and met his teasing gaze calmly. “This one’s tricky. There are gossip reporters all over downstairs. No one else is willing to take this on.”

Their exchange was calm yet oddly in sync, a quiet sort of harmony between them.

Except for Zhou Yi’s assistant, no one knew they were newlyweds who had been married for three months.

As they spoke, Zhou Yi walked over to a rattan chair and sat down, casually pulling on a bathrobe. It hung loosely on his frame, revealing a glimpse of his collarbone.

He looked at Jiang Ying with a half-smile and lazily lit a cigarette. “Then go back and get someone else to deal with it.”

Jiang Ying didn’t respond. Instead, she turned her head toward the young girl beside her.

She recognized the girl—a rising star under Zhou Group, recently gaining attention through a fabricated celebrity couple act. Rumor had it that just a few days ago, she was publicly named on a famous director’s wife’s Weibo post.

Clearly, Zhou Yi hadn’t been picky lately.

The young actress became nervous under Jiang Ying’s steady gaze, but still tried to maintain her act. In a sweet voice, she said, “There are so many reporters downstairs. If it comes to it, I’ll just admit my relationship with President Zhou. Once the buzz dies down, we can clear things up later…”

Her intentions were written all over her face—she simply wanted to use Zhou Yi’s fame to boost herself.

Before she could finish, Jiang Ying’s lips curved slightly as she interrupted coldly, “I contacted your manager on the way here. If we’re on schedule, they should be here by now. You can leave.”

The girl looked stunned. “Leave?”

Jiang Ying replied, “Yes.”

With that, she stepped over to Zhou Yi, reaching out with her fair, slender fingers to pluck the cigarette from his lips and extinguish it. “President Zhou, please head to the room next door. Director Li and the others are waiting for you to start the meeting.”

Zhou Yi raised an eyebrow at her, a playful smile tugging at his lips. “All arranged already?”

Jiang Ying remained composed. “President Zhou, you have at most five minutes. After five minutes, hotel security will ‘accidentally’ let the reporters upstairs.”

They stared at each other for a few seconds. Under the young actress’ shocked gaze, Zhou Yi smirked, stood up, and walked out toward the room next door.
