Watching Wang Lin effortlessly take down his henchmen, Huang Jin broke into a cold sweat. He knew he had met his match this time.

Still, as the second son of the Huang family, he wasn't someone to be trifled with. So, he feigned composure and said,

"Kid, you've got some skills. I like that. What do you say to joining my crew? Let bygones be bygones, and I'll offer you an annual salary of three million."

Wang Lin chuckled, slightly dumbfounded. Was Huang Jin really this clueless? Given the current situation, he still thought he could recruit him?

"Not interested. But, if you'd like to tag along as my errand boy, I might consider treating you when I'm in a good mood."

"How dare you! You think my young master would serve you?"

Suddenly, a harsh voice rang out, and an elder with a goatee appeared before Huang Jin, glaring at Wang Lin.

"Master Qi, you've arrived!" Huang Jin exclaimed, seeming to regain his backbone at the sight of the man.

This Qi, also known as Qi Tong, was a master secretly protecting Huang Jin. With a peak-level hidden force, he was on the verge of reaching the grandmaster realm. Over the years, he had taken care of a lot of Huang Jin's messes, getting his hands bloody in the process.

However, facing Wang Lin, Qi Tong felt an immense pressure, as if he were standing before a prehistoric beast, sending chills down his spine.

"Who trained you, kid?" Qi Tong managed to ask, struggling to withstand the imposing aura emanating from Wang Lin. He hoped to gauge Wang Lin's background.

"You're not worthy to know my master's name," Wang Lin replied coolly. Considering he had inherited knowledge from an immortal emperor, a mere mortal like Qi Tong had no right to know.

"In that case, let's settle this with action," Qi Tong declared, his voice stern. Despite the pressure Wang Lin exerted, backing down now would mean a lifetime of shame. A true warrior would rather die than submit.

"You're no match for me. I'd advise you to back off," Wang Lin stood with his hands behind him, making it clear he had no personal grudge against Qi Tong and wished to avoid unnecessary harm.

"I know I'm no match for you, but duty calls. My apologies," Qi Tong said gravely, unsheathing a flexible sword from his waist and lunging at Wang Lin.

"Ah, well..."

Seeing Qi Tong charge, Wang Lin sighed softly, then unleashed a surge of overwhelming energy that shot toward the heavens—yet only Qi Tong could feel it.

Struck by this intense force, Qi Tong felt as if a massive boulder was weighing down on his chest, making it hard to breathe.

Before he could even reach Wang Lin, Qi Tong collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

The onlookers were stunned, clueless about what had just happened.

"What did you do, kid? How did Qi Tong pass out?" Huang Jin's voice trembled as he spoke.

"He has peak-level dark energy!"

"Do you want to know?" Wang Lin sneered. "I could tell you."

As he spoke, Wang Lin released another burst of his overwhelming aura, this time aimed directly at Huang Jin. Previously, only Qi Tong had felt it, but now Huang Jin could clearly sense the pressure. Just as they made contact, the force of Wang Lin's aura made Huang Jin cough up blood and sent him flying backward.

"Now, do you get it?" Wang Lin said, his voice icy cold.
