They stayed at the bar until after 11 o'clock, but they didn't see Han Lei perform on stage again. Perhaps her earlier claim of going backstage to prepare for the performance was just an excuse. Su Xiaotong suggested they should leave, and Wang Xingxing said, "You two go first, I'll have a few more drinks."

Su Xiaotong nodded. "I'm going to take a shower."
Gu Lei held her hand. "After drinking today, are you in the mood?"
Su Xiaotong paused for a moment. "I'm a bit tired."
"Alright." Gu Lei understandingly let go of her hand.

The next day, life went on as usual. At three o'clock in the afternoon, the family of three once again came to Li Xueli's home. Gu Lei was working, while Su Xiaotong and Li Xueli chatted and prepared meals with laughter. After a night's rest, Su Xiaotong had developed some immunity to Li Xueli's fridge, after all, it wasn't the same fridge as before. However, something was different this time. At half-past three, the doorbell rang. Li Xueli wondered, "Who could it be at this hour?"

Li Xueli wiped her hands clean and walked to the hallway to open the door. Standing at the door was Tan Yong, dressed in a police uniform.
"Hey, Officer Tan? Isn't today Monday? Aren't you supposed to be at work?"
"I am at work."
"At work and still coming to my place?"
"Yes."
Li Xueli was puzzled, "What do you mean?"
"Can I come in and talk?"
"Of course."
After Tan Yong entered the house, he saw Gu Lei and Gu Xiaoliang in the living room. Su Xiaotong also came out from the kitchen. Tan Yong said, "You guys are here too."
All of them sensed that Tan Yong's demeanor and tone were off, different from his usual self. Su Xiaotong and Gu Lei both felt uneasy. Li Xueli asked blankly, "Officer Tan, what's happened?"
"Have you been out today?" Tan Yong asked.
Su Xiaotong shook her head, "It was drizzling in the morning, so I didn't take Xiaoliang out to play."
"I did go out in the morning to buy groceries. What's going on?" Li Xueli asked.
"So, you all don't know and haven't heard?"
"Know what?" Li Xueli became more puzzled.
Taking a deep breath, Tan Yong slowly said, "This morning, someone found a dead body drowned at a certain location in Yuehai. After the report was made, my colleague and I rushed to the scene."
There was silence in the living room for a few seconds. Li Xueli asked, "Who drowned? Was it a tourist or a local?"
"If it had nothing to do with you guys, would I come all the way here to tell you?"
Upon hearing this, the three of them were stunned. After exchanging glances, Li Xueli asked anxiously, "Who?"
Tan Yong remained silent for a moment and then said with a heavy tone, "After identity verification, the deceased is Gong Yamei."
