Wang Lin detected a hint of reluctance in Yu Xiangxiang's tone. A smile tugged at his lips as he said, "I'm on Wenxuan Road."

"Send me your location. Wait for me!" Yu Xiangxiang said before abruptly hanging up.

With no choice, Wang Lin told the taxi to leave and sent his location to Yu Xiangxiang.

Half an hour later, a red Porsche pulled up before him. Yu Xiangxiang, stepping out with her elegantly sculpted legs, said, "Let's go. We need to buy you some clothes. I don't want you embarrassing me!"

"I think what I'm wearing is fine," Wang Lin responded calmly. He had on an outfit that had cost his friend more than two thousand yuan; he wouldn't have worn it if not for a visit to the Hong family's home.

"Fine? Tonight's ball will be filled with wealthy elites; you'll look less impressive than even the waitstaff," Yu Xiangxiang retorted, clearly frustrated. If it weren't for her father's insistence, she wouldn't have invited Wang Lin, sure that he would embarrass her.

"Enough talk. Let's go!" she snapped as she got back into the car, warning, "If you embarrass me tonight, don't ever think of setting foot in the Yu family home again!"

Silently resigned, Wang Lin took the passenger seat and sent a message to Hong Lin on his phone before closing his eyes to rest. Seeing Wang Lin's casual demeanor, Yu Xiangxiang's face was disdainful.

They arrived at a large clothing mall, handed the car keys to the valet, and entered the store.

"Bring out your most expensive men's suits—two of them! And style him while you're at it," Yu Xiangxiang said, her voice dripping with disdain.

"Of course, ma'am. Sir, if you'd please follow me," the attendant Zhao Li replied softly.

Wang Lin wanted to refuse, but catching Yu Xiangxiang's murderous glare, he kept his mouth shut and followed Zhao Li to the VIP room.

An hour later, Wang Lin emerged, looking completely different. Before, he had seemed disheveled. A picture of poverty and even wearing a two-thousand-yuan outfit had only made him look like a nouveau riche. But now, he looked entirely different—anyone who didn't know him would think he was the scion of some wealthy family.

Even Yu Xiangxiang was taken aback. "I didn't expect cleaning him up would make him look somewhat handsome..."

"What are you looking at?" Wang Lin said, waving his hand before Yu Xiangxiang's eyes.

"No, it's nothing. Let's go, time to check out," Yu Xiangxiang said, a bit embarrassed that Wang Lin had caught her admiring him.

"Good evening, your total comes to 158,000 yuan," Zhao Li announced respectfully.

She was ecstatic; the commission on this sale alone would amount to several thousand yuan.

Hearing the amount, Wang Lin nearly choked on his saliva. He hadn't expected a simple makeover and a suit to cost so much.

"Put it on the card," Yu Xiangxiang said without hesitation, handing her card to the cashier.

"Well, if it isn't Wang Lin! Haven't seen you in days, and now you've landed yourself a sugar mama?"

"She's even willing to spend over a hundred thousand on clothes for you. Must say, you're quite something," chuckled two middle-aged men who walked over just as Yu Xiangxiang was about to pay.

Recognizing the men, Wang Lin's expression instantly darkened. In a frigid tone, he said, "Li Peng, you have a short memory when it comes to lessons learned, don't you?"
