Yun Qingqiao recalled how she used to make noodles back in her modern life and set to work.

First, she added a pinch of salt to the flour. The salt would help activate the gluten in the flour.

Next, she cracked an egg into the mixture. The protein from the egg would add elasticity to the noodles.

Then, it was time to add water. Since the egg had already provided some moisture, she introduced the water gradually, in multiple small increments.

After that, she kneaded the mixture into a smooth, firm dough ball and let it rest for a few moments.

Finally, she divided the dough into portions, rolled them into flat sheets, and cut them into medium-thick noodles.

To prevent sticking, she sprinkled some dry flour on top of the noodles and let them air-dry on a cutting board.

With the noodles prepared, she realized that despite her extended stay in this era, her culinary skills remained sharp.

With a hint of pride and a cheerful tune on her lips, Yun Qingqiao headed into the courtyard to pick some greens, preparing to wash them next.

"Let me handle fetching the water," said the melodious voice of her handsome senior disciple from above.

Graciously accepting his offer, she said, "Alright, then you can assist with stoking the fire and other prep work. I'll take care of the actual cooking."

She washed and chopped the greens, then heated some oil in a pan. She stir-fried the greens before adding water. Once it began to simmer, she added her freshly made noodles.

After the water reached a boil, she seasoned it with the right amount of salt. Just like that, a simple yet delectable bowl of Yun Qingqiao's green vegetable noodles was ready to be savored.

Watching her bustling about and muttering the steps of noodle-making to herself, the handsome senior disciple took it all in, etching each moment into his memory.

Their current interaction felt like they had known each other for ages, a sense of familiarity he hadn't felt in a long time. It was a feeling that almost brought him to tears, although he had long forgotten what it felt like to cry.

As for Yun Qingqiao, even though she was doted upon by everyone in the Hou Manor, she always had to maintain the demeanor of a well-bred young lady.

She was constantly vigilant about her actions and words, careful not to reveal that she was from a different era. However, in the Divine Doctor Valley, she felt unburdened by such constraints.

In no time, both had finished their bowls of noodles. While the senior disciple ate leisurely, Yun Qingqiao wolfed down her meal. Her thoughts inadvertently drifted to the first time she made noodles for Lin Maosheng in her modern life, and she felt a pang of bitterness. She suspected that love was an emotion she might never engage with again in this lifetime.

Day by day, their routine centered around studying pharmacology and preparing simple meals. In this way, the senior disciple and Yun Qingqiao unwittingly spent over half a month together. Gradually, Yun Qingqiao gained a solid understanding of many medicinal principles.

One day, the handsome senior disciple brought back a wild pigeon. Yun Qingqiao initially wanted to make "Beggar's Pigeon," but unfortunately, lotus leaves were out of season. Inspired, she made a delicacy using wild ingredients: Stewed Pigeon with Forest Mushrooms.

While accompanying her senior disciple in identifying various herbs on the mountains of Divine Doctor Valley, she discreetly picked some mushrooms, thinking they would go wonderfully with the pigeon.

Indeed, even before the dish was ready, the rich aroma had already wafted through the air, catching the senior disciple's attention.

Once served, both relished the meal, which brilliantly combined the taste of the mushrooms with the succulent richness of the pigeon meat. Just as they were savoring the last bites, a familiar voice echoed from the doorway—

"What's cooking? It smells incredible!"

It turns out the white-bearded old man had returned.

"Master, this is a stewed pigeon dish that my junior sister prepared," the handsome senior disciple said, gracefully wiping his mouth.

The old man's eyes lit up. He picked up the large bowl in the middle of the table and gulped down the broth.

Yun Qingqiao shielded her eyes, not daring to look at the old man. All left was a few sips of broth; the pigeon meat had been devoured. She wondered if the old man would hold it against her.

"Hahaha, well done, young lady! I never expected you to have such culinary skills," the white-bearded old man said, grinning from ear to ear after finishing the pigeon broth.
