In no time, two bowls of egg custard were ready. Yun Qingqiao sprinkled some sugar and handed one bowl to her young senior disciple.

The senior disciple was surprised that this young lady from a wealthy family could make egg custard. He took the bowl with a hint of suspicion and took a sip, finding it surprisingly delicious!

Yun Qingqiao watched as her good-looking senior disciple ate with satisfaction. She felt happy and thought, 'With such striking looks, I might as well call him 'Handsome Senior Disciple.'

After breakfast, the handsome senior disciple's demeanor warmed up. He asked Yun Qingqiao if she could read and write. She said she could and added that she had also read some medical books.

He then gave her a few medical textbooks, telling her to read them first and come to him with any questions.

The young senior disciple explained that mastering medicine requires an in-depth understanding of medical literature. With a wealth of books on traditional Chinese medicine, knowing how to choose entry-level materials and read them organized is crucial for understanding pharmacology.

He continued, discussing the importance of understanding the effects of various medicines. One must not only memorize the efficacy of different drugs and how to harvest them in the real world but also have a firm grasp on their characteristics, taste, functions, preparation methods, and dosages. It is especially vital to understand their side effects, particularly for toxic substances.

"...After that, you can start learning about formulas," the senior disciple continued. "Apart from understanding the basics, you'll also need to memorize the composition, effects, and primary applications of each formula."

"Next comes the methods of diagnosis in traditional Chinese medicine," he added, "but for that, you'll need instruction from our master."

Listening to her senior disciple talk so extensively, Yun Qingqiao poured him a glass of water and asked, "How long have you been studying medicine?"

"Quite a few," he responded, his expression becoming noticeably reserved when the focus shifted to him.

Noticing his reluctance to discuss his affairs, Yun Qingqiao proposed, "To thank you, how about we have green vegetable noodles for lunch today?"

Mentioning food brought a knowing smile to the handsome senior disciple's face. "That sounds wonderful, thank you," he said.

"However," she added, "you'll still have to start the fire. For the time being, let's dub you 'Lord of the Flames.'"

To her surprise, he stifled a laugh, coughed lightly, and said with a severe tone, "Instead of joking around about your senior disciple, you might as well take a look in the mirror and see who's better suited for the title of 'Lord of the Flames.'"

When Yun Qingqiao returned to her room, she looked in her bronze mirror and noticed her face and clothes were covered in soot. It must've happened when she was starting the fire. She wondered why her senior disciple waited so long to say something. Oh well, she thought, at least he's willing to teach me. What more can I expect?

After freshening up, Yun Qingqiao remembered the medical books her senior disciple had given her, but she forgot to collect them. She turned to go back and fetch them.

The handsome senior disciple was still reading in the bamboo hall when he heard light footsteps approaching. He saw his junior sister dressed in a simple, light-pink brocade outfit. Her skin was as pristine as a freshly peeled egg, and her eyes sparkled as if they could speak. Her light smile radiated an enchanting charm that was instantly endearing.

"Senior Brother, I've come for the books," Yun Qingqiao announced. Her voice echoed softly, like the gentle trickling of a secluded spring, causing a slight tremor in his heart and making him forget to turn the page.

"Mmm," he responded.

Once she left, the handsome senior disciple shifted his gaze back to his book and shook his head. After all, she was just a seven-year-old girl.

As noon approached, Yun Qingqiao thought it was crucial to build a good relationship with her senior disciple, especially if she wanted to stay and learn medicine in the Divine Doctor's Valley. The least she could do was ensure he didn't go hungry. So she headed to the kitchen, washed her hands, and prepared the noodles.
