CHAPTER 40 - THE LADY IS BACK
After recording the kidnappers' confession on his phone, Wang Lin knocked them out and headed to the van. Inside, he found a young girl in her early twenties, dressed in a pink dress and with her hair tied in twin ponytails. Her hands were bound behind her back, and her mouth was sealed with duct tape. Her large, frightened eyes watched Wang Lin as he approached.
"Don't be afraid; you're safe now," Wang Lin said calmly, gently untying her hands and removing the tape.
"Thank you for saving me," the girl, Yun Qiao, murmured in gratitude, rubbing her sore wrists.
"You don't need to thank me. Your housekeeper promised me five million for this rescue," Wang Lin replied nonchalantly.
Yun Qiao's face flushed with embarrassment at his straightforwardness, but she quickly composed herself.
"Regardless, you did save me. If it weren’t for you, my life would have been ruined."
She had overheard Wu Gang's words and knew that if Wang Lin hadn’t intervened, she would have fallen into Yang Zhen's hands. Her family, though somewhat powerful, was no match for the Yangs, and they would have had to suffer in silence.
"Just remember to pay me the five million," Wang Lin said, not one to forego his due reward just because she was attractive.
"Of course, I’ll make sure you get it," Yun Qiao replied, internally sighing at his directness.

"Good, let me drive you back," Wang Lin offered. He tossed the unconscious kidnappers into a nearby field, turned the van around, and drove towards the city.
At Tiantong Estate's Villa No. 10, luxury cars lined the driveway, and two muscular bodyguards stood at the entrance. Inside the living room, Yun Hong, Yun Qiao's father, was in a state of fury. He had been about to fly to the capital for business when he received the news of his daughter's kidnapping and rushed back.
"Someone dares to kidnap my daughter?!" he roared. The maids, still present, trembled under his anger.
"The maids said someone has gone to rescue her," one of the family members mentioned.
"But do we even know who he is? Can we trust him with Qiao'er's safety?" Yun Hong demanded, slamming his hand on the table.
"Master, he easily subdued two of the kidnappers. It was a dire situation, so I asked him to help," one maid explained, kneeling in fear.
"If anything happens to Qiao'er, you'll pay with your lives," Yun Hong threatened coldly. Yun Qiao was his only child, and he would tolerate no harm to come to her.
"Mr. Bai, we rely on you now. You must bring back Qiao'er safely," Yun Hong turned to two elderly men, Bai Shan, and Bai Shui, skilled bodyguards he had hired at great expense.
"Don't worry, boss. As soon as we locate Miss Yun, we'll ensure her safe return," Bai Shan assured him.
"But where do we even start looking? It's been over an hour; they could be hiding anywhere by now," Yun Hong said, his voice heavy with suppressed rage.
Suddenly, a cry of joy came from outside, "Master, Miss Yun is back!"
Everyone in the room turned towards the door in disbelief and relief.
