CHAPTER 39 - IT’S REALLY SEEKING DEATH
Wang Lin, seeing the shotguns in the hands of the three men, couldn't help but show a hint of disdain. Shotguns were only effective if they could hit their target, and with Wang Lin's speed, the men would likely be incapacitated before they even had a chance to react.
"In broad daylight, you dare to kidnap innocent women? This is where I step in," Wang Lin declared, his voice icy.
The leader of the group, Wu Gang, burst into laughter.
"You've got skills, kid, but times have changed," he taunted, brandishing his shotgun.
"No matter how skilled you are, can you really dodge a shotgun blast?"
"Seven steps away, a gun's fast; within seven steps, you won't even get a chance to fire," Wang Lin countered, noting they were only about five steps apart.
"Kid, you've watched too many movies," Wu Gang scoffed.
"You're right about one thing: seven steps away, a gun's fast, but within seven steps, it's fast and accurate."
"Try me," Wang Lin replied nonchalantly, unfazed.
Wu Gang, confident in his own ability, sneered, "If you're seeking death, I'll oblige. Remember, I'm Wu Gang. Don't get the name wrong when you're in the underworld."
He cocked his shotgun and took aim at Wang Lin, his face twisted with malice.
"Time to die!"
At the sound of the gunshot, Wang Lin vanished from his spot. Wu Gang's face drained of color as he frantically looked around, but Wang Lin was nowhere to be seen.
"Looking for me?" Wang Lin's voice suddenly came from above.
Wu Gang looked up in shock to see Wang Lin effortlessly perched atop a large tree. The sight left the trio speechless.

Wang Lin lightly descended and landed in front of the three men, asking coldly, "Who sent you?"
Given their possession of shotguns and the daring act of kidnapping in Tiantong Estate, Wang Lin suspected they were backed by a significant power.
"We just saw the girl and wanted to have some fun," Wu Gang replied with a sinister grin.
Wang Lin didn't believe a word.
"You had your chance, now you'll face the consequences."
Before they could react, Wang Lin was already upon them. As they raised their guns to shoot, he swiftly grabbed the barrels, bending them with ease right before their astonished eyes.
"Are you human or a ghost?" Wu Gang stammered in fear, unable to comprehend how Wang Lin had performed such feats.
"I am very much human. Whether you remain human depends on your behavior," Wang Lin said coldly. He took the now useless shotguns from them and, with a burst of golden flames from his hand, reduced the guns to ash.
The men knelt, trembling, begging for mercy. "Please, we were just working for money... It was Yang Zhen, the second son of the Yang family, who sent us..."
Hearing the Yang family's name again, Wang Lin's face showed a hint of amusement.
"The Yang family doesn't know when to stop."
