After visiting her grandmother, Yun Qingqiao found that Youzhu and Jingyu were still waiting for her. They stood rather than kneeled but remained precisely where she'd left them.

"Follow me inside," she said, casting them a glance.

After walking a few more steps, Yun Qingqiao turned to Su Mama and said, "You can attend to other matters, Su Mama."

"Yes, Miss," Su Mama respectfully replied before leaving. Despite her young mistress's age, Su Mama couldn't help but admire her wisdom and maturity.

Youzhu and Jingyu followed Yun Qingqiao into the room. As soon as they entered, they immediately knelt again.

Even though Yun Qingqiao had adjusted to the customs of this era, the spontaneous act of kneeling still caused her to frown. It seemed like they couldn't talk unless they were kneeling.

A head appeared at the doorway, bobbing slightly. Yun Qingqiao glanced and recognized it as Chun Nan. "Chun Nan, come in and close the door behind you," she instructed.

After directing Chun Nan, she turned to Youzhu and Jingyu. "Alright, what's going on?"

Youzhu spoke with a tremble, "Miss, please save our brothers!"

Yun Qingqiao frowned, "Your brothers? What happened?"

It turned out that after Su Mama had taken in Youzhu and Jingyu, she had placed them in the same room as Chun Nan. While getting ready for bed last night, they saw a wound on Chun Nan's leg. Upon asking, they learned that Yun Qingqiao had been the one to heal her. According to Chun Nan, their young mistress was highly skilled in medicine, so much so that even the renowned Dr. Wang of their household praised her.

Both Youzhu and Jingyu came from the same village, devastated by a flood, without food or crops. Their parents had died of hunger or illness, leaving each girl with only her brother. Youzhu and her brother had begged their way to Chuzhou, and Jingyu and her brother had done the same. Although they initially had some money, it soon ran out. They found themselves at a dead end until Youzhu and her brother, by begging for food, saved Jingyu and her brother, who were on the brink of starvation. Since then, the four had been inseparable.

To make a living, Youzhu and Jingyu became maids in the mansion. Their brothers, frail as they were, found no takers when they tried to get jobs as servants. Instead, they were forced to work as laborers at the docks.

But what could undernourished young men change by working hard labor? They still couldn't eat enough or stay warm. New workers like them not only faced wage cuts by the contractors but also bullying from older, more experienced workers. As a result, Youzhu's brother ended up with a broken leg, and Jingyu's brother with a fractured hand.

Initially, Youzhu and Jingyu thought that once they earned their monthly salary as maids in a wealthy family, they could help their brothers. However, their brothers' conditions worsened. When they saw Chun Nan's healed leg, they realized their young mistress was kind-hearted and skilled in medicine. They figured that if Yun Qingqiao could save Chun Nan, who had been severely injured, she could also save their brothers. Hence, they came kneeling at Yun Qingqiao's door early in the morning.

"You may rise. I promise to help your brothers," Yun Qingqiao said, looking sideways at Chun Nan, who had made her medical skills sound almost magical.

"Thank you, Miss! Thank you, Miss!" Youzhu and Jingyu were both excited and moved. They had not expected their young mistress, who seemed like a fairy, to have such a good heart.

Yun Qingqiao asked, "Where are your brothers now?"

"They're near the docks in the north of the city. We can't afford the rent, so we don't even know where they are now. Miss, what should we do?" Jingyu became anxious again. Though their mistress had promised to help their brothers, they still didn't know their exact whereabouts.

"Don't worry, leave it to me. If I promise to take care of this, I'll find a way," Yun Qingqiao assured the new maids. She thought, 'Looks like I'll have to ask my brothers for help to find these two.'

The two maids felt relief wash over them. Their young mistress, it seemed, was as competent as she was kind-hearted.
