Wang Lin broke the silence,

"Mr. Hong, do you recall what I mentioned earlier about a formation being set up around this place?"

"I remember, but do formations exist?" Hong Shiwen looked puzzled. He had lived most of his life without hearing of such a thing.

"They do exist, but most people never encounter them. Even if they did, knowing about it wouldn't help much. If I hadn't come here today and discovered the formation, your family could have faced total ruin within a decade," Wang Lin stated, calmly sipping his tea.

Hong Quan burst out angrily,

"Young man, stop with the scare tactics! You just want more money, don't you? You saved Tao and received a billion; you should be set for life. No need for any more of this mysterious nonsense."

Ignoring Hong Quan's outburst, Wang Lin turned his gaze to Hong Shiwen,

"Mr. Hong, for the sake of my disciple, I'm willing to resolve this issue for you at no cost. However, I need your help finding someone."

After witnessing Wang Lin's abilities and considering his family's recent misfortunes, Hong Shiwen had no reason to doubt him. If all it took to resolve the issue was to help find someone, there seemed to be no reason to refuse.

After weighing his options, Hong Shiwen finally spoke,

"Very well, Mr. Wang. Who is it that you're looking for?"

"My mother, Yan Siyu," Wang Lin said as he produced a photograph. The picture showed a young couple holding a child. He pointed to the young woman and continued,

"This is my mother. She disappeared twenty years ago. I was hoping you could help me find some leads."

Hong Shiwen studied the photograph, his brow furrowing as he seemed lost in thought. After a moment, he put down the picture and said,

"I believe I've met your mother."

"Really? You've met her?" Wang Lin's voice quivered excitedly as he grabbed Hong Shiwen's hand. He hadn't expected to find a clue about his mother so quickly.

"Yes, but that was eighteen years ago. I was in Langguo on business and found myself being pursued by assassins. Just when I'd lost all hope, your mother saved me," Hong Shiwen confirmed.

"I'm certain it's her. She said her name was Gu Yu at the time, but I can assure you she's the woman in the photograph."

"Eighteen years ago, in Langguo?" Wang Lin released Hong Shiwen's hand and sank back into the sofa.

"What happened afterward? Have you seen her since?"

Hong Shiwen shook his head and said,

"No, I haven't seen her since. But I would guess that she's safe, given her skills. There are very few people who could harm her."

"Is that so..."

"It looks like I need to make a trip to Langguo," Wang Lin muttered, steeling his resolve. He decided that at the first opportunity, he would go to Langguo to search for traces of his mother, even though the chances of finding her seemed slim.

"Don't worry, Mr. Wang," Hong Shiwen reassured him softly.

"After tonight, I'll arrange for people to investigate your mother's whereabouts. Although the Hong family primarily operates in the Northern territories, we have contacts in other regions as well. Finding one person should not be a problem. We'll inform you immediately if we learn anything."

"Thank you, Mr. Hong," Wang Lin said, relieved.

"Now, let's deal with the issue of the formation."

With the promise of Hong Shiwen's help, Wang Lin felt hopeful that he would soon find out where his mother was. Deep down, he sensed that a reunion was not far off.
