Now that Wang Lin had identified the vehicle and even seen its license plate number, he knew he could track it down.

After untying the two hostages and tending to the beaten woman's injuries, he left the villa. Although nearly twenty minutes had passed, it was rush hour, and in the city, traffic would be slow. The kidnappers likely hadn't left the city yet.

Unsure of which exit the kidnappers would use, Wang Lin called Hong Lin and briefed him on the situation, requesting people be stationed at each city exit. Hong Lin readily agreed, quickly mobilizing his people. In Luo City, the Hong family's efficiency was unmatched.

With arrangements in place, Wang Lin headed to the north gate, a likely escape route leading to rural areas with plenty of deserted old houses, ideal for hiding.

After a wait of several minutes, the van appeared amidst the heavy traffic. Concerned for Yun Qiao's safety, Wang Lin didn't immediately intercept the vehicle but trailed it discreetly. The driver, unaware that someone could keep pace with a car on foot, didn't pay much attention to his rear.

Only when the van turned onto a secluded country road did Wang Lin reveal himself, blocking its path.

The driver, surprised by Wang Lin's sudden appearance, instinctively slammed on the brakes, stopping mere inches from him. Fuming, he rolled down the window and yelled, "Get out of the way, kid! Don't block my path!"

"Hand over the woman you've kidnapped," Wang Lin demanded, his voice icy.

Hearing this, the driver's face twisted into a sneer.

"Oh, so you're here to play the hero? Too bad you might end up in trouble yourself."

As he spoke, the van's doors opened, and four muscular men emerged, joining the driver. Armed with wrenches, crowbars, and the driver with a steel pipe, they menacingly approached Wang Lin.

"Let's see if you've got what it takes to save her," they taunted.

Wang Lin scoffed at their bravado and lunged at the driver first. The driver swung his steel pipe towards Wang Lin's head with a whistle of speed.

But to Wang Lin, the attack was slow and predictable. He effortlessly dodged and grabbed the steel pipe, twisting it out of the driver's grasp with ease. Before the stunned driver could react, Wang Lin crumpled the pipe into a ball, then flattened it into a disc.

The five men were dumbfounded, having never witnessed such strength.

"Who are you?" the driver stammered, trying to maintain his composure.

"Just a good Samaritan passing by," Wang Lin replied with a light chuckle. In a few swift moves, he knocked all five men to the ground, then turned to rescue Yun Qiao.

Suddenly, three gunshots rang out, hitting the ground in front of him. Turning, Wang Lin saw three men approaching from a side path. The leader, brandishing a homemade shotgun, arrogantly addressed Wang Lin, "Kid, I'd advise you not to meddle."

"Otherwise, I can't guarantee the next shot won't hit you!”
