MEET SCARLETT MARCAULAY

A/n I'm so excited that you decided to read this story and I hope you enjoy it let me know your thoughts in the comment section... This is my first story and I hope you like it.

"Scar... Wake up scar, wake up, wake up now!"

I felt my leg being tugged repeatedly. I just wished whoever it was would just disappear. I wasn't ready to start the day yet... at least not now. The voice stopped disturbing and I felt relief swim through my body, but before I could go back to my sweet sweet dream, I felt water trickling down my forehead... "Argggggg why won't you just let me rest," I groaned and sat down on the bed only to come face to face with my roommate and best friend of six years, Tinu. I saw a wicked grin on her face and immediately knew that she did this intentionally, she knew I didn't want to go anywhere today but wouldn't take a 'no' for an answer.

"Get that pretty ass of yours up and get dressed, we're going shopping," Tinu told me with a stern voice and left my room.

So…. I have a feeling that you guys are confused, let me rewind a little bit. My name is Scarlett Anuoluwapo Macaulay, I'm a final year Creative Arts student at Holloway university of art, science and technology (HARST) and I'm 21. I would describe myself as short, I don't know my height and you can't blame me for that because I haven't really checked. I have a petite stature–According to Tinu–with brown doe eyes, my hips and butt are actually not too big but not too small either, and my breast is of average size which I initiatively suppose... So I'm drifting now... Tinu transferred to my secondary school while we were in our final year of senior high school three, and we've been best friends ever since. Our parents collaborated and decided to let us school in the Republic of Benin since we couldn't get into a Nigerian university and didn't want to wait an extra year since we couldn't get admission here without going through a rigorous process; don't get me wrong it's not like they don't know what they're doing here it's just part of the policy, at least they don't try to kill somebody here. Today's a Saturday and we finished our last paper yesterday so Tinu thinks we should have the best time of our lives today by going shopping and stuff and going clubbing at night. It's not that I don't like having fun, I don't just feel like it today, but this witch won't let me rest…

"SCARLETT ANUOLUWAPO MACAULAY!!!!! GET YOUR ASS UP THAT BED BEFORE I WET BOTH YOU AND YOUR BED!!!!!!!!" Tinu yelled from outside.

Arggggg that girl's practically an animal! and there goes my quiet time...

Chapter 2- Shopping Spree

Scar's Pov

Without putting much effort into looking good, I just brushed my teeth and didn't even bother taking my bath. I threw on an oversized black shirt with white stripes that my boyfriend Alex gave to me.... Or I stole.. one of the two sha¹ and I put on one of my faded sky blue jeans. I wasn't required to look great, was I?

I neatly brushed back my braided hair and went downstairs to meet the animal I call my best friend...

I met her in the kitchen munching on cornflakes like some rabid dog–which I think she is–and I just rolled my eyes, I wonder how she manages to stay in shape with the way she ate. Ignoring her, I reached into the refrigerator and pulled out a protein bar. I wasn't in the mood to eat anything, just how I wasn't in the mood to do anything today, but thanks to my best friend who behaves like a local woman, I can't even have my way.. Good Goddddddd!!

I turned to see her looking at me and I raised my eyebrows in inquiry.

What she said next was complete Tinu-like, "for a moment I thought you weren't coming down and I practically had to stop myself from coming up and dragging your ass down here"

"But you seem to be enjoying yourself," I said looking at her and shifting my gaze to the almost finished box of cereal, "well I'm here now, let's get this over and done with" I finished with a sigh.

"Scar..." she whined

"what????" I asked and took a look at her before adding "you wanted me to go and now I'm here so let's go"

She sighed and dragged me out of the house, we waited for the uber she had previously booked and when we arrived at the shopping mall, I looked up and sighed.. not here again, we were at one of the most popular malls in the country M and M, just one of the perks of being friends with Tinu.

My parents were pretty average, not too rich but not too poor either. Tinu on the other hand had wealthy parents, I sometimes wonder why she chose to be friends with me of all people. What I liked most about her is the fact that she's very humble and she's not type to boast. Her parents were ready to send her to one of the best school's abroad but for some weird reasons she chose to come with me to HARST. According to her, she didn't want to be apart from me... I really don't know what I did to deserve her, she's just the best..

As we stepped out into the mall we heard our names and turned only for us to be pulled into a bone-crushing hug by someone. Looking up, I saw Jade, Tinu's cousin and our other best friend, she was sporting a smile so wide that I feared for her cheeks. Jadesola or Jade as we liked to call her was one of the most pretty girls I know. She was tall, slim, had a perfect shape and was on a low-cut with her hair dyed blond. She had some piercings around her ear and nose and was just absolutely breathtaking, I always feel self conscious around her.

"So what are you guys doing here?" she asked still smiling. "We finished our finals yesterday and we decided to shop and hit the club this night"

'We? Excuse me miss, but that's suppose to be an 'I'!' I thought

"Awww congrats," Jade said before she exclaimed, "shopping spree it is!"

I merely shook my head, smiling as I let the sisters drag me further into the mall, deciding between themselves to give me a total body lift... Whatever that meant...
